Smart suspension

In many larger projects that Svero is involved in, the lifting equipment is delivered prepared for a quick and easy assembly. Svero keeps the equipment in stock and sends it after the customer's call. This is a great advantage as the work is usually carried out on cramped and weather-exposed construction sites.

An example of such a project is the expansion of the district heating network in the Stockholm area where the pipes would be suspended under a 330 meter long bridge. Svero entered the project early, was involved during the whole process and designed a tailor-made solution for the suspension. Drawings and step files were provided and could be transferred directly to the customer's cad program. The delivery consisted of 66 specially designed and manufactured beam trolleys which were delivered pre-assembled so that they could be quickly mounted on site. The beam trolleys greatly facilitated and speeded up the mounting of the pipes, saving a lot of time. Once the installation is finished and the water begins to be pumped through the pipes, the trolleys also take care of the horizontal movement of the pipes, which occurs when the pipes expand or contract depending on the temperature of the water. In this case the maximum expantion is 300 mm.

- The challenge in this exciting project was to produce approved trolleys that were adapted for this particular purpose, says Nicklas Almlöw as responsible Svero salesperson for the project. It's not just about finding the solution itself, but also being the spider in the web between the customer, design and the third part company testing the trolleys. The goal is of course always a satisfied customer in the end, and that was the case here as well, concludes Nicklas.
